Thomas K. Hockel

Thomas K. Hockel is a partner with Klein, Hockel, Iezza & Patel, P.C. ("KHIP"), and has been with the firm since 1999. He is an employment counselor and an experienced trial attorney. Tom handles all phases of litigation in cases before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, including trial and appeals. He has successfully handled or tried numerous cases involving a variety of claims, including, but not limited to: wrongful termination; sex, disability, age and race discrimination; harassment; wage and hour claims; labor code retaliation claims; labor code claims for failure to pay wages; trade secret claims; and covenants not to compete.
Although Tom's primary emphasis is employment law, he has handled cases in numerous other areas, including business torts, commercial litigation, ERISA, and insurance bad faith.
Tom is a member of the California State Bar, and the San Francisco Bar Association. He is a past president of St. Thomas More Society of San Francisco, is a Marriage Preparation Leader for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland, a volunteer for the Pope Francis Pro Bono Legal Clinic with the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland, and a former coach and manager of Walnut Creek's Little League.
